Playa del Duque renews its Blue Flag in 2024

The beach next to the Bahía del Duque hotel, in Costa Adeje, reaffirms its commitment to tourist ecological quality and environmental protection for another year.

Playa del Duque Beach, in the municipality of Adeje and next to the Hotel Bahía del Duque, has once again obtained the Blue Flag, a global standard for excellence and quality of services and for its dedication to the care, maintenance, and protection of the environment.

The European Foundation for Environmental Education awards the Blue Flag annually. Technical inspections carried out by independent experts have confirmed that the beach, which is maintained by the operating company ‘Sociedad Explotadora Playa del Duque S.L.’, belonging to Grupo CIO, the owner of the Bahía del Duque hotel, meets strict requirements linked to the quality of the bathing waters, information and environmental management targeted at users in several languages, safety, services, and facilities it offers.

During the Blue Flag hoisting ceremony, the Director General of Bahía del Duque, a member hotel of The Tais Hotels & Villas, Cristina de Juan, emphasised that ‘obtaining the Blue Flag distinction once again is a recognition of the constant effort for the optimal maintenance of Playa del Duque beach. This recognition reinforces our position among the best beaches in Spain, offering facilities that ensure comfort, safety, and accessibility for all users.’
