Bahía del Duque retains its Michelin Key for the third consecutive year

Discover why the Michelin Guide has once again recognised Bahía del Duque in 2026, and what makes this Tenerife hotel one of the great benchmarks of international luxury hospitality.

Bahía del Duque has retained its Michelin Key in the 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide, now counting three consecutive years among the world’s most exceptional hotels. A recognition that confirms our approach to luxury and service is not a one-off achievement, but a way of understanding hospitality that we have spent more than three decades perfecting in Tenerife.

What is a Michelin Key, and why is it so highly regarded?

Since their creation in 2024, Michelin Keys have become the hotel industry’s equivalent of Michelin Stars in gastronomy. They do not reward luxury alone, but rather the combination of individual character, attention to detail and a genuinely exceptional service experience. Retaining this recognition for a third consecutive year places Bahía del Duque among a very select group of hotels able to sustain that level of excellence over time.

To award its coveted Keys, the Michelin Guide assesses five universal criteria:

  • Architecture and interior design
  • Quality and consistency of service
  • Character of the establishment
  • Value for money
  • Meaningful contribution to its surroundings

Nub, the culinary jewel crowning our dining offer

The Bahía del Duque experience cannot be understood without its dining offer, with Nub as its leading exponent. This restaurant, awarded a Michelin Star, remains the space where chefs Andrea Bernardi and Fernanda Fuentes-Cárdenas blend European and Latin American cuisine. Alongside Nub, up to nine restaurants coexist within the hotel, turning every meal into a different stop along the same culinary journey through flavours from around the world.

More than three decades building a history of excellence

Bahía del Duque now has more than 30 years of history since it opened in 1993, and its trajectory continues to set the standard for luxury hospitality in the Canary Islands. Its more than 63,000 m² of tropical and subtropical gardens, together with its colonial-style architecture, give it a distinctive character, further reinforced by the personalised service and attention to detail our guests recognise during every stay.

With three clearly differentiated accommodation areas — Bahía del Duque, Casas Ducales and Las Villas — the hotel offers spaces designed not only for those seeking the convenience of a resort with everything close at hand, but also for those who prefer to enjoy their holiday in the utmost privacy.

Complementing this is Bahía Wellness Retreat, our spa, whose outdoor thalassotherapy circuit — with heated seawater, waterfalls and bubble beds surrounded by tropical greenery — completes a wellness experience developed in partnership with such prestigious brands as Biologique Recherche.

A track record that keeps growing

This new Michelin Key adds to a track record of more than one hundred awards throughout our history, including accolades such as the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, the TUI Global Hotel Awards, the British Airways Holidays Customer Excellence Award and the Condé Nast Johansens Awards. A collection of accolades that places Bahía del Duque among the most highly regarded hotels on the international stage.

A commitment renewed every day

“Retaining our Michelin Key for the third consecutive year is an enormous source of satisfaction for the whole team, as it confirms that the path we have chosen — caring for every detail and placing the person at the heart of the experience — is the right one. We will keep working every day so that everyone who visits us takes away an unforgettable memory of their time at Bahía del Duque,” says Cristina de Juan, General Manager of the hotel.

With this new distinction, Bahía del Duque reaffirms its position as one of the great benchmarks of luxury hospitality worldwide, and shows that Canarian hospitality can hold its own alongside the very best hotels on the planet. We invite you to discover it for yourself and experience first-hand what has once again made us worthy of the Michelin Key.
