The jury of the “Qué Bueno Canarias Mahou” awards recognised the effort of the member hotel of The Tais Hotels & Villas to encourage a high level of gastronomy that brings prestige to the Canaries
The “Qué Bueno Canarias Mahou” awards distinguished Hotel Bahía del Duque in the ‘Canarian Hotels Haute Gastronomy’ category for its effort to encourage a high level of gastronomy that brings prestige to the Canaries.
The jury of the tenth edition of these awards assessed the overall gastronomic experience and the offer of the member hotel of The Tais Hotels & Villas, whose concept is based on variety and excellence to create memorable gastronomic experiences in a unique environment.
The hotel Bahía del Duque includes in its selection of haute cuisine restaurants the restaurant NUB of Andrea Bernardi and Fernanda Fuentes, which has a Michelin Star and a Repsol Sun, the restaurant La Brasserie of the chef Pierre Résimont, who has two Michelin Stars in his restaurant L’Eau vive in Belgium, and Kensei, a contemporary Japanese restaurant of chef Víctor Planas, which has also received the Prize for the Best Restaurant Project in the Canaries 2021 from the specialist publisher.
The director of Food and Drink at Bahía del Duque, Michel Burgio, expressed gratitude for this important recognition. “The Qué Bueno Mahou Awards are the culmination point of a journey that we began decades ago and that we have consolidated over the last five years thanks to a firm commitment to completing our value proposal with a selection of restaurants of the highest level and a permanent commitment to ongoing improvement” they stated.
“We are enormously proud of contributing, with our gastronomic concept, to encouraging the extremely high quality of the Canarian offer and its recognition in the outside world” they added.
Through its restaurants, Bahía del Duque invites guests and visitors to delve into different culinary cultures with the proposal of the Italian La Trattoria; the international cuisine restaurant La Hacienda, located on the seaside promenade with marvellous views over Playa del Duque beach; the Alisios Market Food market cuisine restaurant, where the chef Lucas Ordóñez combines seasonal produce with haute cuisine and SUA, a modern culinary space devoted to Basque cuisine. As well as the Beach Club, with dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, and the hotel´s main restaurant, El Bernegal.
The tenth edition of the Qué Bueno Canarias Mahou awards was held at the Costa Martiánez Tourist Complex in Puerto de la Cruz.
