Playa del Duque obtains blue flag

Once again, this year, the beach located in Adeje, next to Bahía del Duque hotel, has accredited care, maintenance, and protection of the environment through the global standard for tourism eco-quality.

Playa del Duque Beach, in the municipality of Adeje, has obtained the Blue Flag, a global standard for tourism eco-quality which, in addition to the excellence and quality of services, accredits care, maintenance, and protection of the environment.

The Blue Flag is a distinction awarded annually by the European Foundation for Environmental Education through technical inspections by independent experts. The services and maintenance of the beach are managed by the operating company, Sociedad Explotadora Playa del Duque S.L., belonging to Grupo CIO, the owner of the Bahía del Duque hotel. In order to obtain this certification, it surpassed demanding requirements linked to the quality of the bathing waters, information and environmental management targeted at users in several languages, environmental management, safety, services, and the facilities it offers.

Cristina de Juan is the manager of Bahía del Duque, a member hotel of The Tais Hotels & Villas. She believes that “obtaining the Blue Flag distinction once again this year is a recognition of the constant effort that is made throughout the year for the optimal maintenance of Fañabé Beach, considered one of the best in Spain, and among other aspects it includes facilities that ensure comfort, safety, and accessibility for all users.”
