The Hotel has prepared exquisite culinary proposals based on a “Jungle” theme to celebrate the most special holidays of the year
Hotel Bahía del Duque proposes celebrating a gourmet Christmas and to do so, its team of chefs has organised varied and exquisite culinary proposals to welcome the most special holidays of the year.
Specifically, for Christmas Eve, the restaurant La Brasserie run by the chef Pierre Résimont, who has 2 Michelin stars at his restaurant L ́Eau-Vive in Belgium, is offering a carpaccio of scallops from Brittany, tomato, ricotta and citric fruit; cream of seasonal mushroom, cubes of foie and hazelnut foam; duck magret, mille-feuille potatoes, a wedge of celery and scallions; and to complete the menu, a final dish formed by chocolate tartlet, caramel, salted butter and vanilla ice cream.
Likewise, for New Year´s Eve, the Europe Lounge will host the End of Year Grand Gala which will begin with caviar and Tattinger Brut and Rosé. The menu is formed by several dishes: baked scallops, lobster, citric fruits, beetroot mojo sauce and plankton gel; as well as forest mushrooms, foie, hazelnut and coffee foam; hake, cream of cod cheek, urchin sphere and vegetables; and marbled sirloin, aromatic Malvasia, wild fruits and truffle polvorón shortbread.
Dishes accompanied by the wines Rubicón Seco Malvasía Volcánica D.O. Lanzarote and Marqués de Cáceres Reserva Especial Edición Limitada D.O.Ca Rioja. The menu is completed with white strawberries and Taittinger “Lion King”, Taittinger Brut, turrón nougats, mignardises, and midnight grapes to bring luck.
A theme to raise awareness about looking after the environment
This year, in addition to the gastronomic proposal, the program of activities at Bahía del Duque has been designed based on a “Jungle” theme with the aim of raising awareness about the climate emergency, deforestation and the disappearance of some species. To do so, in addition to the hotel décor based on this theme, daytime sports and leisure activities for all ages have been programmed, and at night, there are family shows, flamenco and themed live music. To end the year, the Grand JUNGLE Gala will take place, livened up by a magnificent orchestra, and a menu that befits such a deserving occasion.
Lastly, to get 2020 off to a good start, the hotel will offer its clients the chance to celebrate its well-known New Year “World of Magic” Barbecue with spectacular fireworks to end the party.
