“Dinner in Bahía’s Sky” a high gastronomic experience

The Bahía del Duque hotel presents a 30-metre high gastronomic experience

22 guests each session will enjoy special menus designed by different chefs of recognized prestige

Bahía del Duque, one of the Compañía de las Islas Occidentales (CIO) businesses, will be serving meals up in the air to help commemorate its 25th anniversary. The event, dubbed Dinner in Bahia’s Sky, will allow guests to enjoy a gastronomic experience at a height of 30 metres with spectacular views of the ocean, the beach and the hotel.

It is the first time in the world that a lofty experience such as this is taking place at a hotel. The Dinner in Bahia’s Sky event will be held on 25, 26 and 27 October 2018, with six separate sessions per day and a maximum occupancy of 22 clients.

Six sessions per day

The first ascent will consist of a breakfast, followed by a Taittinger champagne tasting with caviar. The third event of the day will consist of a lunch prepared by the Michelin-starred NUB Restaurant team from La Laguna. A cocktail workshop will be held afterwards at the hands of Abel López. In the evening, attendees can opt for a dinner prepared by the kitchen team of the Michelin-starred Kazan Restaurant in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, or a French-style dinner prepared by La Brasserie’s chef Pierre Résimont, holder of two stars for his L’Eau-Vive Restaurant in Belgium.

According to the hotel’s Food and Beverage Manager, Michel Burgio, “Our guests and visitors come looking for a memorable experience in an idyllic setting. With Dinner in Bahia’s Sky we are adding these two elements in a gastronomic adventure at the hands of renowned chefs in which diners can enjoy the spectacular views of the Playa del Duque, Tenerife’s sky and the aerial views of the hotel as a backdrop. It is a unique occurrence, the first of its kind in the Canary Islands, truly an unforgettable moment to experience.”

Guests can choose any of the six sessions that include a lunch menu and two dinners exclusively designed for the occasion by each of the participating chefs. A breakfast, a champagne tasting and a cocktail workshop will complement this extraordinary high-flying experience. Attendees will be able to live out a dream up in the air sitting at a finely laid table, 30 metres high, with guaranteed safety.

In addition to hotel guests, this experience is open to the general public. Prices vary from 70 to 255 euros depending on the session with a maximum capacity pf 22 people.

25 years of unforgettable moments

The 25th anniversary of Bahía del Duque’s inauguration will be held in November and which the hotel will be celebrating with a grand gala in September. Celebrating this commemoration has been the guiding thread for the organisation throughout the year, with a whole series of unique experiences planned, including Dinner in Bahia’s Sky.
