Cristina de Juan, New General Manager of Bahía del Duque

Cristina de Juan is taking on the challenge of leading The Tais Hotels & Villas Hotel’s operations, the management of human resources, and the overseeing of the marketing and sales plan.

Grupo CIO has appointed Cristina de Juan as General Manager of Hotel Bahía del Duque, an individual who until now had held the position of Director of the hotel’s Management Committee. This change to the company’s organisation chart represents a further step in the Group’s commitment to human resources and the promotion of talent from within.

With her new position, Cristina de Juan will be the head of the hotel’s operations and management at a time of expansion and consolidation towards new markets in the premium sector. She is taking on the challenge of leading the hotel’s operations (a hotel which belongs to The Tais Hotels & Villas brand), the management of human resources, and the overseeing of the marketing and sales plan.

With the appointment of Cristina de Juan as General Manager, we are going one step further and recognising her track record of success, talent, and management leadership skills which goes back with Bahía del Duque over nearly 20 years, doing all of this at a key moment for the hotel and the expansion of our value proposition”.

The Hotel Bahía del Duque is characterised by its commitment to excellence, attention to details, and personalised service – the result of the involvement of all the members of the hotel’s senior management, area managers, and the team as a whole.

The new General Manager of the hotel, Cristina de Juan, has stated, “I am going into this new stage with enthusiasm and a true sense of responsibility, knowing that I have a team of professionals whose commitment and worth are part of the essence of the hotel and of the Bahía del Duque brand. Cristina de Juan holds an undergraduate degree in Hotel Management from the University of La Laguna. She has a postgraduate degree in Management of Tourist Establishments from Esade and an Exécutive Certificate from the EHL Hospitality Business School (Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne).  She also participated in the General Managers Programme (GMP) at Cornell University. She has solid national and international experience in the sector.

She began her journey in hotels like the H10 Andalucía Plaza, Hotel Melia White House in Londres or El Mirador. In 2003, she joined Bahía del Duque as Manager of the Villas and Casas ducales. In 2011, she was appointed Director of the hotel’s Management Committee, a role she has held until now.
